Triangle
A project by Anna Molinari
featuring Lee Swillingham (2009).
TRIANGLE
Triangle is a unique collaboration brought together by Anna Molinari, the artist Lee Swillingham, and a metropolis.
Triangle is the first “scarf capsule collection” by Anna Molinari which presents three foulards inspired by the artist’s relationship with his hometown, London.
ANNA MOLINARI
Since 1995 the Anna Molinari brand has represented for the Blufin group an ideal laboratory for research and development for the designs, styles and manufacture.
Under the creative direction of Rossella Tarabini up to 2007, the line is recognised as innovative and experimental, often trying out non conventional directions.
While Blugirl was the Blumarine range for younger women, Anna Molinari represents, in respect to the main line and its typical woman, the ideal counterpart of image and style.
A woman always in the Blufin style, yet stronger, more confident and determined, a more modern vision of the world of women and their lives. As of March 2008 production and marketing of the Anna Molinari label has been covered by a licensing agreement with the Sinv group.
LEE SWILLINGHAM
Handed the reigns of The Face magazine, at the tender age of 23, Lee Swillingham went on to introduce a whole new young generation of photographers and stylists to the fashion world. In 2001, he established Pop Magazine with editor Katie Grand, which soon became the best-selling biannual in fashion. After seven successful years they were approached by Condé Nast to develop a new title. In 2009 Love Magazine was born. Lee has worked with many photographers including David Sims, Mario Testino, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Steven Klein, Juergen Teller and Inez Van Lamsweerde. In 2002 he founded his agency, Suburbia. His commercial clients have included Comme Des Garcons, Gucci, Tod’s and Dior amongst others. He has received prestigious awards from the “Society of publication Designers” and “The Art Directors Club of America”. Lee Swillingham lives in London.
Lee Swillingham's quotes about his artworks:
— 1. “Security Cameras”
London is one of the most heavily surveilled cities in Western Europe.
I wanted to take a humorous look at the big brother-sation of my adopted home town.
— 2. “Bus Map”
London has an extensive network.
I noticed recently that the bus maps on the street can look like beautiful abstract patterns, so this was
the idea for this design.
— 3. “Sunday Roast”
When I’m away from home, this is the meal I miss the most!
